吴岳良:男,1962年2月出生,江苏宜兴人,理论物理学家,中国科学院院士、国际欧亚科学院院士,中国科学院理论物理研究所研究员、博士生导师,中国科学院大学学术副校长,国科大杭州高等研究院基础物理与数学科学学院院长,国家杰出青年科研基金获得者,享受国务院政府特殊津贴,入选国家人事部“百千万人才工程”。1982年从南京大学理论物理专业本科毕业;1987年从中国科学院理论物理研究所博士毕业,之后前往德国多特蒙德大学、德国美茵次大学、美国卡耐基-梅隆大学、美国俄亥俄州立大学从事研究工作 ;1996年回到中国,进入中国科学院理论物理研究所工作,先后担任副研究员、研究员、第一研究室主任、副所长;1997年入选国家人事部“百千万人才工程”;2000年入选中国科学院百人计划;2006年担任中国科学院卡弗里理论物理研究所所长;2007年当选中国科学院院士,同年担任中国科学院理论物理研究所所长(至2012年);2012年担任中国科学院大学常务副校长,兼任中国科学院大学中丹学院院长;2019年当选国际欧亚科学院院士。吴岳良院士主要研究方向为粒子物理、量子场论和宇宙学。首次完整地建立CP自发破缺的双黑格斯二重态模型,不仅可解释标准模型中CP破坏的起源,同时使得每个夸克和轻子都带有一个物理的CP破坏位相成为新的CP破坏源。与合作者提出重夸克有效场理论的物理基础并给出多个计算高阶修正的动力学方法。研究工作获得了国家基金委重大和重点项目,创新群体项目,理论物理重大研究计划项目,科技部攀登项目等的资助;研究成果获国家自然科学二等奖。
Wu Yueliang: Male, born in February 1962, from Yixing, Jiangsu. He is a theoretical physicist and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences. He is a researcher and doctoral advisor at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the academic vice president of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the dean of the School of Basic Physics and Mathematical Sciences at the Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study, UCAS. He is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, enjoys a special government allowance from the State Council, and was selected for the Ministry of Human Resources' "Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Talent Project." He graduated with a bachelor's degree in theoretical physics from Nanjing University in 1982, received his PhD from the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1987, and then conducted research at the University of Dortmund and the University of Mainz in Germany, as well as Carnegie Mellon University and Ohio State University in the U.S. In 1996, he returned to China to work at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, serving successively as associate researcher, researcher, director of the First Research Lab, and deputy director. In 1997, he was selected for the Ministry of Human Resources' "Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Talent Project." In 2000, he was included in the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Hundred Talents Program. In 2006, he became the director of the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics at CAS. In 2007, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and also became the director of the Institute of Theoretical Physics, CAS (until 2012). In 2012, he was appointed executive vice president of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, concurrently serving as dean of the Sino-Danish College at UCAS. In 2019, he was elected as an academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences.
Academician Wu Yueliang's main research areas are particle physics, quantum field theory, and cosmology. He was the first to completely establish the two-Higgs doublet model with spontaneous CP violation, which not only explains the origin of CP violation in the Standard Model but also introduces a physical CP-violating phase to each quark and lepton as a new source of CP violation. Together with collaborators, he proposed the physical foundation of heavy quark effective field theory and provided several methods to calculate higher-order corrections dynamically. His research has been supported by major and key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, innovation group projects, major research programs in theoretical physics, and the Ministry of Science and Technology's Climbing Project, among others. His research achievements have been awarded the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award.
