张维为：中国著名的政治学家、国际关系学专家，复旦大学特聘教授、博士生导师、复旦大学中国研究院院长，国家高端智库理事会理事、上海春秋发展战略研究院理事长、《东方学刊》主编。被《光明日报》评为2016年中国智库十大人物。复旦大学外文系和北京外国语大学高级翻译学院毕业、以优异成绩获日内瓦大学国际关系博士学位（1994）。上世纪80年代中期，张维为教授曾担任邓小平和其他中国领导人的英文翻译。走访过100多个国家。在《求是》《红旗文稿》《人民日报》《光明日报》《世界社会主义研究》《中国领导科学》《经济导刊》《亚洲评论》《东方学刊》《纽约时报》《International Herald Tribune》《Asia Wall Street Journal》《New Perspectives Quarterly》《Foresight》《the Atlantic Times》 《Asia-Europe Journal》《Huffington Post》《World Post》和《观察者网》等发表过大量关于中国政治与经济改革，中国道路、中国模式与中国话语，现代化道路比较，文明型国家，中国外交政策的文章。2011年他与“历史终结论”提出者福山先生有过一场关于中国模式的著名辩论，他在辩论中准确预测了“阿拉伯之春”不久将变成“阿拉伯之冬”。张维为教授2014年的《中国人，你要自信》网络视频点击量数亿，产生了很大的社会影响。在上海东方卫视开设的国内首档思想性政论节目《这就是中国》广受好评，在国内外均产生广泛影响，于2022年荣获中国电视艺术最高奖项“星光奖”。张维维曾应邀在哈佛大学、牛津大学、剑桥大学、耶鲁大学等著名学府演讲，参加过许多重要的国际会议和论坛（达沃斯论坛、纳克萨斯论坛、芒克论坛、牛津辩论俱乐部、博鳌论坛等），接受过央视、BBC、今日俄罗斯、半岛电视台、ARD，Arte，《经济学人》、《纽约时报》、《金融时报》等重要媒体的许多专访。张维为教授参加了习近平总书记于2016年5月主持召开的全国哲学社会科学工作座谈会，并作为政治学领域的代表就理论创新、中国话语建构和新型智库建设等议题作了发言。他还作为思想理论界的代表登上国庆70周年盛典的游行彩车。2021年5月31日，习近平总书记主持了中共中央政治局第30次集体学习，主题为加强我国国际传播能力建设。张维为就该问题进行讲解，提出了工作建议。中央政治局的同志认真听取了他的讲解，并进行了讨论。
Zhang Weiwei is a renowned Chinese political scientist and international relations expert. He is a Distinguished Professor and doctoral advisor at Fudan University, the Director of the Fudan University China Research Institute, a council member of the National High-end Think Tank Council, the President of the Shanghai Spring and Autumn Development Strategy Research Institute, and the editor-in-chief of the journal Oriental Studies. He was named one of the Top Ten Think Tank Figures in China in 2016 by Guangming Daily. He graduated from the Department of Foreign Languages at Fudan University and the Advanced Translation School at Beijing Foreign Studies University, and obtained a PhD in International Relations from the University of Geneva (1994) with excellent results. In the mid-1980s, Professor Zhang served as an English interpreter for Deng Xiaoping and other Chinese leaders. He has visited more than 100 countries. He has published numerous articles on Chinese politics and economic reforms, the Chinese path, the Chinese model and Chinese discourse, comparative modernization paths, civilization-state theory, and Chinese foreign policy in journals and media such as Qiushi, Red Flag Manuscripts, People’s Daily, Guangming Daily, World Socialism Research, Chinese Leader Science, Economic Guide, Asia Review, Oriental Studies, The New York Times, International Herald Tribune, Asia Wall Street Journal, New Perspectives Quarterly, Foresight, The Atlantic Times, Asia-Europe Journal, Huffington Post, World Post, and Guancha.com. In 2011, he had a famous debate about the Chinese model with Mr. Francis Fukuyama, the proponent of the 'End of History' theory, accurately predicting in the debate that the 'Arab Spring' would soon turn into the 'Arab Winter'. Professor Zhang’s 2014 online lecture "Chinese, You Should Be Confident" garnered hundreds of millions of views and had a significant social impact. His domestic political commentary program "This is China" on Shanghai Oriental TV, the first of its kind in China, was widely praised and had broad influence both domestically and internationally. In 2022, the program won China’s highest television art award, the Starlight Award. Zhang Weiwei has been invited to give lectures at prestigious universities such as Harvard University, Oxford University, Cambridge University, and Yale University, participated in many important international conferences and forums (Davos, Nexus, Munk, Oxford Debate Club, Boao Forum, etc.), and has been interviewed by major media outlets such as CCTV, BBC, RT, Al Jazeera, ARD, Arte, The Economist, The New York Times, and Financial Times. Professor Zhang participated in the National Symposium on Philosophy and Social Sciences hosted by General Secretary Xi Jinping in May 2016 and spoke as a representative of political science on theoretical innovation, Chinese discourse construction, and the development of new think tanks. He also appeared as a representative of the ideological and theoretical community on the parade float for the 70th National Day celebration. On May 31, 2021, during the 30th collective study by the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee hosted by General Secretary Xi Jinping on strengthening China’s international communication capabilities, Zhang provided explanations and work suggestions on this issue.
