中国工程院院士，中国林业科学研究院研究员
个人履历：
刘世荣：男，1962年3月出生，辽宁人，森林生态学领域首席专家，中国工程院院士，中国林业科学研究院研究员、博士生导师，中国生态学学会创始会士，森林生态学领域首席专家，国家级跨世纪学术技术带头人，国家杰出青年基金获得者。兼任：国生态学会名誉理事长，中国林学会副理事长、森林生态分会理事长。1980年考入沈阳农业大学林学系，先后获得学士、硕士学位；1987年研究生毕业之后留校担任助教；1990年获得东北林业大学生态学博士学位，之后被分配到中国林业科学研究院林业研究所工作；1994年至1995年在英国爱丁堡大学从事博士后研究工作；1995年至1996年在美国北卡罗莱纳州立大学研修；1996年至1998年担任森林生态环境研究所副所长；1998年至2004年担任森林生态环境与保护研究所所长；2001年获得国家杰出青年科学基金资助；2004年至2014年担任中国林业科学研究院副院长；2014年至2018年担任国际竹藤中心党委书记并兼任中国林业科学研究院副院长；2018年担任中国林业科学研究院院长、分党组副书记；2023年当选为中国工程院院士；2024年担任华南植物迁地保护与利用国家林业和草原局重点实验室学术委员会主任。主要从事森林生态学领域研究，他的研究包括森林生态系统结构与功能、退化天然林生态恢复、人工林地力衰退与长期生产力维持机制和多目标经营、森林生态水文学和森林对气候变化的响应与适应等方面的研究。先后主持国家自然科学基金、林业公益性行业科研专项等多项科研项目；先后主编或参编的学术专著有11部，在国内外发表学术论文300余篇，其中SCI收录论文100多篇。先后获得国家科技进步二等奖3项、梁希林业科学技术一等奖1项和省部级科技进步一等奖1项、三等奖3项。荣获全国优秀科技工作者、海峡两岸林业敬业奖励基金奖、国家林业和草原局优秀共产党员、全国创新争先奖状等。
