Kai-Fu Lee: A well-known artificial intelligence expert, CEO of 'Zero One Everything', member of the board of Fujian Fuyao Technology University, member of the Advisory Group for the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and an IEEE Fellow. He previously served as the chairman and CEO of 'Innovation Works'. In 1988, he obtained a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University. In 1988, he was awarded the title of 'Most Important Scientific Innovation of the Year' by Business Week and later became an associate professor, developing the world's first 'non-specific continuous speech recognition system'. From 1990 to 1996, Kai-Fu Lee held various positions at Apple Inc. in the U.S., including manager of the speech group, director of the multimedia lab, and global vice president of the interactive multimedia department. From 1996 to 1998, he worked at Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI) in the U.S. as vice president and general manager of the internet division and president of Cosmo Software. In July 1998, he joined Microsoft and in November became the director of Microsoft Research Asia (now Microsoft Asia Research Institute). In 2000, he was promoted to vice president of Microsoft and moved back to the headquarters to oversee natural interfaces. On July 20, 2005, he joined Google, responsible for the operation of Google's China R&D center, serving as the president of Google China. On September 4, 2009, he founded Innovation Works in Beijing, serving as chairman and CEO, executive partner of the Innovation Works Development Investment Fund, and angel investor. In 2017, he led Innovation Works to invest in industry-leading projects such as NetEase Weiyang and F5 Future Store. In March 2019, he led the subsidiary Innovation QiZhi of Innovation Works to sign a cooperation agreement with Jimo District, Qingdao City. In May 2023, he entered the AI large model field, leading a team to establish a new company 'Zero One Everything' and serving as CEO. In April 2025, Kai-Fu Lee became a member of the board of Fujian Fuyao Technology University. He has served as co-chair of the AI Committee of the World Economic Forum's Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, was listed by Time magazine as one of the world's 25 'AI Leaders' in 2023, one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2013, and received honors as one of the 25 benchmark figures driving global technology in the century from Wired, and accolades in the 2024 Forbes China Science and Innovation personages. He holds ten U.S. patents, has published over a hundred professional journal or conference papers, and has authored more than ten best-selling Chinese books.
